Madness

Each season of Apex Legends brings about the introduction of diverse, colorful characters. Adding intricate pieces of lore and vibrant story beats to the ever-expanding experience, Apex players are keen to develop the ongoing narrative. Some Legends are made obvious when it comes to their identity, but others remain shrouded in mystery. One of those characters is the elusive ‘Mad Maggie’.

According to new leaks discovered within the game, the Legend could be arriving sooner than we think.

When will ‘Mad Maggie’ come to Apex Legends?

‘Mad Maggie’ first appeared in Season 8 of the game, initially acting as an announcer, in the Chaos Theory and War Games limited-time events. With a distinct Australian accent, Maggie’s voice isn’t hard to miss. Thanks to reputable Apex Legends leaker KralRindo, we now have an indication of when the Legend will arrive. With the help of Shrugtal as well, all signs point towards a Season 12 launch date for the character.

After searching within the game, following the well-received Raiders Collection event, the data miners found a file titled “empty light anim”. This kind of file is only found when new Legends are due to be added to the game. KralRindo also managed to uncover sound files related to skydiving and Maggie wielding a knife.

Who is ‘Mad Maggie’ in Apex Legends?

In the lore of Apex Legends, ‘Mad Maggie’ is the childhood friend of fellow Legend Walter ‘Fuse’ Fitzroy. Seeing Fuse’s decision to join the Apex Games as a detriment to their friendship, their bond became increasingly strained. Fuse ended up losing his arm in a fight with Maggie after she became angered at his decision to abandon their home planet. This can be explored in the Stories From The Outlands video.

While no models or renders can show Maggie’s physical form in the game as of yet, this will all change in the build-up to Season 12. It is rumored that Maggie will display the following abilities too:

  • Shotgun Kick Passive
  • Tactical Flashbang
  • Sonic Wave

Information is limited for now, but all will be revealed in February 2022.
